Be Flexible 

One of the most important factors to communicating during a crisis is to remain flexible. As it is a changing situation, it’s important to take it day by day. Policies may change as the situation evolves, and that is okay – recognize it, inform your audience about it, and continue to do the best you can with every given situation. 

Maintain Connections 

Keeping open dialogue and lines of communication with people in your circles is more important now than ever before. Distanced, outdoor meetings, virtual happy hours and taking the time to be responsive and check in is vital to having good communication and conversation this year.

Find A Balance

Even though it can feel like current events are consuming all of our social media and news feeds, it’s vital to find a balance between ongoing events and normal materials. Share other relevant news and updates along with policies and current events. Make sure all communication isn’t centered around the pandemic so you don’t burn out yourself or your peers on too much COVID news.
