A new year brings new business plans and goals, and we want to talk today about ways to set intentions and bring success to your business this year.

After the uncertainty of 2020, with adjustments of learning to work from home and adapt quickly to situations, it’s safe to say 2021 will have its unpredictable moments as well. Despite this, we’ve put together some strategies to enhance your business planning and get a head start on the new year.

Set Goals

A new year is the perfect time to consider your goals and accomplishments. Do you want to drive in more revenue this year? Connect more with your clients on a personal level? Think about what good goals would be, both for you individually and your business, and right them down. Use both short-term and long-term goals here – what do you want to accomplish this month? This quarter? This year?

Get Organized

Take a moment to really reset for the upcoming year. Go through and organize your files, emails, client lists, and priorities. Knowing where everything is, and what is coming next, is critical to planning the upcoming year. Put in place a new system, if needed, for the new year to help you stay organized and on top of tasks all year long.

Prioritize Tasks

Make a priority list of your goals, upcoming tasks, events, and more to help formulate your plan. Similar to goals, you can set different priorities for different times of the year. Do you want to prioritize your marketing strategy? Client relations? Do you need to get better at budgeting, or social media? Marking your priorities and checking in on them through the year will help you keep yourself accountable and on task.

Stay Flexible

One of the most important lessons we’ve learned, highlighted even more in 2020, was to stay flexible! Goals, priorities and situations can change rapidly. In 2020, we had to stay flexible as we adapted to working from home and taking COVID-19 precautions. We’re continuing to learn from this in 2021. Every goal and task is a moving target, and things can change – let them! Continuing to shift and grow with your business, and change your business plan as you go, is one of the best things you can do to plan for the future of your company.
